Depression. What is it?

Hye there! (the one who's reading this). So basically a lot of us keen to know what the hell is depression? Why it is a trendy talk now?

So to start. I want you to take a deep breath and slowly exhale it and feel the energy flows to all the parts of your body. Because this topic is quite debatable.

According to Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA),

"Depression is a condition in which a person feels discouraged, sad, hopeless, unmotivated, or disinterested in life in general. When these feelings last for a short period of time, it may be a case of "the blues." But when such feelings last for more than two weeks and when the feelings interfere with daily activities such as taking care of family, spending time with friends, or going to work or school, it's likely a major depressive episode."
In layman understanding, depression is the mood swing, the sadness, the hardening feelings that coop up deep inside any of us. The cannot-be-describe feelings of disconnected to this world.
Continue to what ADAA said about depression,
There are three main types of depressive disorders; major depression, persistent depressive disorder, and bipolar disorder (can occur with any of the anxiety disorders.)
P/S: In another post i will explain more about those disorders or maybe you can just googled it up.
Enough with all these definitions, what i wanna highlight in this entry is that how to react to a person that you know having depression or any hard time.
1) Never leave them alone.
2) Spot any ridiculous acts or suicidal thoughts that they may have told you before.
3) Always have some refreshing conversations with them. Light jokes or funny stories will be helpful.
4) Be a good listener. LISTEN to whatever they want to tell you. Perhaps you can catch a hint on something to help them physically, mentally or emotionally.
5) Be patience. If you really cared for them. Give them some times to let it out. Lend your shoulders.
Yeah. Just something you may know earlier but i still wanna make it as a reminder over and over again. Depression is not only about sadness. And most of people suffered with depression did not really come out of that situation positively, some take short cuts (committing suicide).
So here again, be an informative observant, it may save some lives.
That's all from me today, leave some comments, share your thoughts.
